All work and no play makes for troubling trend in early education
Many times a parent will observe the children playing in one of our programs, and comment that they’re not sure that their child is learning. I am a firm believer in young children learning through play. Certainly play should be balanced with a developmentally appropriate curriculum, but preschool age children need a chance to explore their environment according to their interests. I believe that this article is a testimonial to that, and highlights that play allows children an opportunity to imagine, problem solve and negotiate with other children. All of which are important qualities for all preschool children to experience.
