We have just been through a challenging state budget process, where early childhood funding was significantly cut. There is much controversy around the state, and nationwide as to whether or not we should be investing in Universal Preschool for children. This article, as well as other related studies, clearly shows that both the short term and the long term benefits would outweigh the costs of making preschool available to more families. It is also points out, not only how the children benefit, but how schools and the society at large would benefit as well.
