Cuyahoga County Foster Parents of the Year Recipients!
Arthur and Cheryl Kunkler are being recognized by the Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services and the Cuyahoga County Commissioners as Foster Parents of the Year. Arthur and Cheryl Kunkler are currently medically fragile foster parents with Berea Children’s Home and Family Services.

Arthur and Cheryl Kunkler became foster parents in 1971 and have opened their home to 91 children over the past 39 years. Cheryl is a licensed nurse and together they make an exceptional team in providing a safe, nurturing home to some of our communities’ most challenged children. They have provided care for infants weighing as little as 1pound 10ounces. They are exceedingly giving individuals who take great joy and pride in helping medically fragile foster children.

The Kunklers’ became foster parents in 1971 with the Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services. In 2006, due to residing in Medina County, they transferred to the Cleveland Clinic Medically Fragile Foster Care Program. In January 2010, the Kunkler’s became part of the Berea Children’s Home and Family Services Medically Fragile Foster Care Program.

Arthur and Cheryl were honored at the Cuyahoga County Commissioners meeting on Thursday, May 6, 2010 and are being featured on the Robin Swoboda Show on Channel 8 on Friday May 7, 2010.
