High Quality Social Service Programs are Making a Difference in Lorain County

On Monday, December 19, 2011 from 11:00am-11:00pm, Quaker Steak and Lube in Vermillion, Ohio is hosting their third annual “12 Gifts of Christmas” fundraiser, with Berea Children’s Home and Family Services as the beneficiary. Quaker Steak and Lube will donate 10% of the daily food sales back to our organization, so make sure to stop by at 5150 Liberty Avenue in Vermillion, Ohio 44089 for food, live entertainment and prizes! Everyone is encouraged to attend to support this great cause!

Regardless of location, Berea Children’s Home and Family Services is committed to providing quality support services for children, families and communities in need. It is with that commitment in mind that our agency began providing high quality programs and services in Lorain County. Currently we offer Counseling for Adoptive Families, Early Childhood Mental Health Services, Group Therapy Programs, Outpatient Counseling Services, Home-Based Family Treatment Services, Maternal Depression Counseling, Parenting Classes and Classroom Consultations and Nurse Assistant Training to clients residing in Lorain County. Our services are highly successful and each year we are able to serve additional clients. Furthermore, we have board advocacy in Lorain County led by Berea Children’s Home and Family Services Board Chair, Dave Zentkovich and Board of Trustees, Marquez Brown and Debby Zanglin.

The expansion of our programming in Lorain County has allowed us to extend our services to meet the additional needs of the community. We are equipping and empowering children and families in Lorain County to reach their potential and become contributing members of a strong community. For instance, through our Counseling for Adoptive Families, Nevaeh gained a solid foundation from which she can develop and grow. Visit http://www.bchfs.org/programs/search/pdf/nevaehs-adoption-journey.pdf to read about her success. Mindy finally feels that she has done her part to give her children a stable, nurturing family foundation because of our Northeast Ohio Nurse Assistant Training Program. Visit http://www.bchfs.org/programs/search/pdf/neonat-training.pdf to read about her success. These are just two examples of the many faces of success through our Lorain County programming, and as we head into 2012, we are certain there will be many more client successes to come.
