Auxiliary Membership

Administrative

Volunteers work with staff to provide clerical and related assistance to positively impact staff and program/department efficiency. Duties may include filing, answering phones, copying, shredding, reception/greeter, mailings and light typing. Administrative volunteers are needed at many of our offices including in Berea, Cleveland Mid-Town, Lorain, Painesville and Central Ohio.

Food Services

Volunteers work with staff to provide assistance with food service and/or distribution, special events, food preparation and packing client food baskets to positively impact staff and program/department efficiency. Ability to use light kitchen tools, appliances and maintain the cleanliness and safety standards set forth by the Food Service Department is required. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age, pass a physical and background check.

Maintenance

Volunteers help staff members with gardening, light repairs, toy maintenance and other clean-up and maintenance duties to positively impact staff and program/department efficiency. Duties may include gardening, bike repair, toy clean up and battery changes, light home and/or yard clean up. Maintenance volunteers are needed at a variety of locations including in Berea, Lakewood, Brook Park, Maple Heights, Middleburg Heights, Cleveland Mid-Town, Lorain, Painesville and Central Ohio. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age, pass a physical and background check.

Transportation

Volunteers work with staff to help with transportations duties, including couriering agency mail, food basket delivery and toy distribution to agency offices or client homes toy to positively impact staff and program/department efficiency. Driving is required throughout Northeast Ohio and/or assigned territory. Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age, pass a physical and background check and have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and proof of insurance are required.

Worship Services

Volunteers work with staff to provide non-denominational, faith-based support and education for individuals to positively impact staff and program/department efficiency. Duties may include presenting at Faith Friends events, helping with holiday and other faith-based programming. Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age, pass a physical and background check.

Special Events and Seasonal Services

Volunteers assist staff with holiday and other seasonal party planning, decorating, working in the donation center and other seasonal needs. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age, pass a physical and background check.

Quarterly and Done-In-A-Day Projects

Quarterly and Done-In-A-Day projects are short-term projects, suited for individuals and/or groups. Projects include clean up of playgrounds (weeding, planting, raking leaves); organizing a pizza party for clients; organization and clean up of the donation center; story-time for our children at our child care centers; washing agency vans; hosting holiday parties or baby showers for clients; back-to-school supply sorting and packaging; and much more!
